1 Secret New Day

Thursday, January 8, 2009

So far, things are good, life is good. Of course, I have my responsibilities building up again, the house is getting messy, time seems hard to come by, and I'm exhausted by 6:00 P.M. each night... Everyday, I work very hard to consciencely frame my day with positive thinking. At night, I try to note a few things I'm thankful for and plan for my future. In the morning, I try to listen to music and focus my thoughts on what a good day I plan to have.

Some short-term goals I have set for myself include:

Professional
  • Completing my first college assignment before class begins January 20. I hope to complete it by January 12.
  • Prepare folders (Iowa Core Curriculum and MAP Data).
  • Create materials/documents for teachers.
  • Prepare for site visit.
Personal
  • Create my "Image Board" by January 12.
  • Finish reading my "Workbook" by February.
  • Read Good to Great by February.
  • Read Wikinomics by March.

1 Secret 1 Day

Friday, January 2, 2009

A couple of months ago, I read The Secret. This is an inspiring book that really tests one's conviction. At the time I read it, my professional life was in chaos as I was inundated with duties and graduate school responsibilities were at an all-time high. I had great intentions but was not strong enough to persist in creating a positive attitude. The holiday break has passed and it is back-to-work. Over my break, I bought a workbook that goes along with the secret (different author though) and have begun my journey to a more productive and abundant life. I hope to come to terms with the way I think and to be in greater control of my thinking patterns (remove all negativity such as resentment, dissatisfaction, and hurt feelings that I have previously allowed). My goal is to radiate positive energy, find the good in people (especially people I have not trusted in the past), be more productive at work and in school, and enhance relationships near and far. My plan is to document my journey officially though I may not share it for the world to see.
