"So, get your DEAL on Dad!"

This is Sacha's new form of sassyfrass... We aren't sure where this is coming from or what phrase she's actually trying to repeat, but it's definitely intended to be backtalk.

Other phrases we have heard at and before age two and one-half include:
"I didn't do it on purpose."
"Don't worry about it."

Beautiful

Teague's playing in his Baby Einstein activity center, I'm cuddled up on the couch with a soft blanket, snow is falling from trees, the branches and everything around are sparkling white... I love winter.

Sacha is now potty trained and doing very well. She wakes up at night when she needs to go and she makes it through naps with no accidents! Her vocabulary is growing at a ridiculous rate. Everyday, we are dumbfounded by a new impressive phrase she's picked up and using in context.

Cody's working hard going from EPS to wrestling back to EPS... such a busy time right now. He just bought a new truck. This has made him quite happy; it's been a long time coming. It was awesome the day he picked it up - he wore a glow that whole day, grinning from ear to ear.

I am preparing to begin classes this week. Tuesday and Thursday nights. This should be a little tough to transition into. I've been getting used to more time with Sacha and Teague. We are also coming upon negotiations with the school district. This will be more complicated then usual due to the merging of the Graettinger and Terril districts. But, I am hopeful that we will do this peacefully and cooperatively.

Our district is also considering going 1:1 (laptops). This is an exciting time as we work hard to plan how to make this endeavor a success.

In terms of beautiful... it's all in how what you see.

Every 6 Months...

Thursday, January 14, 2010

That appears to be my MOTTO. HA... I'll get the hang of it - I promise. As you can see, posting daily wasn't one of my goals, or was it?

To date: I am four months from attaining my Master's; I am applying to the Iowa Principal's Leadership Academy. I completed all of my short-term professional goals. My husband won't buy me the rest of the bed set. BUT, we have a new lawn mower, 4-wheeler, and now a F150... hmmm... something is definitely wrong here. Let's see, my other mid-range personal goal was lost in the shuffle - weight - HELLO - baby number 2 + busy life = Chubby Mommy. Ha ha, but I don't care.. I have two beautiful children, a special husband, two great families, and everything I could ever want.

Life is still good.

BOY ~ WHAT a SECRET that was to ME!?!?

Monday, June 15, 2009

Little did I know that when I created this account as well as my first blog that I was in the first 4-6 weeks of pregnancy. It is all so ironic that my story line was concentrating on "The Secret" and there were hints here and there that I was pregnant. I did not know I was pregnant... so here I am!...almost 27 weeks along.

Needless to say, my fatigue took over all motivations to continue blogging and continue working towards most of the goals I set for myself. I have achieve most of my short term goals however, so I am not 100% in the red.

1 Secret New Day

Thursday, January 8, 2009

So far, things are good, life is good. Of course, I have my responsibilities building up again, the house is getting messy, time seems hard to come by, and I'm exhausted by 6:00 P.M. each night... Everyday, I work very hard to consciencely frame my day with positive thinking. At night, I try to note a few things I'm thankful for and plan for my future. In the morning, I try to listen to music and focus my thoughts on what a good day I plan to have.

Some short-term goals I have set for myself include:

Professional
  • Completing my first college assignment before class begins January 20. I hope to complete it by January 12.

  • Create materials/documents for teachers.
  • Prepare for site visit.

  • Create my "Image Board" by January 12.

1 Secret 1 Day

Friday, January 2, 2009

A couple of months ago, I read The Secret. This is an inspiring book that really tests one's conviction. At the time I read it, my professional life was in chaos as I was inundated with duties and graduate school responsibilities were at an all-time high. I had great intentions but was not strong enough to persist in creating a positive attitude. The holiday break has passed and it is back-to-work. Over my break, I bought a workbook that goes along with the secret (different author though) and have begun my journey to a more productive and abundant life. I hope to come to terms with the way I think and to be in greater control of my thinking patterns (remove all negativity such as resentment, dissatisfaction, and hurt feelings that I have previously allowed). My goal is to radiate positive energy, find the good in people (especially people I have not trusted in the past), be more productive at work and in school, and enhance relationships near and far. My plan is to document my journey officially though I may not share it for the world to see.
